anyone have diving log 6.0 on Linux?

Post by YVeltmaat »

Hi all,

because Windows 10 support is ending, and my laptop is not compatible with Windows 11, I'm thinking of switching it to Linux Mint. The laptop is too old for Win11, but functioning very well, so no need to replace. And I would much rather spend my money on a diving holiday instead of a new laptop, as you can probably understand.

I've searched the forum for information on Linux use, and there is a mention in 2017 that one person got it working. I was hoping more people have been able to do this, and give me some tips and tricks on how to do this.

Or, the other option on the FAQ page I found this: "A Linux version is unfortunately not planned. But you can run Diving Log with Virtual Box on a Linux system." Does anyone use this setup and got it working?

Kind regards, and thanks for any information you can give me.

My laptop is also too old for Windows 11, but I will try installing it anyways soon. There are several ways to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware and it should run just fine if you had Windows 10 on it before.
