Kind of water

Post by Emmie »

I have no idea if it is already on the list of updates, but can you also put "brackish" in the list of water?
So that you can choice between: fresh water, salt water and brackish.

Maybe my english isn't so good, but is brackish not very dirty, muddy water? Or does it mean a mixture between salt and fresh water which you can find on a estuary?

Brackish is indeed a mixture of salt and fresh water. I think this is the best word in English for it. If a native speaker knows a better word for it......
And the reason why I asked, is that I have a lot of dives in Oostvoornse Meer, as Sublub mentioned.

OK Emmie, you are right. Wikipedia explains it correct: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brackish

Now I have a new english word learned and know that brackish isn't dirty water, which was what my translation software told me first
