starting from scratch on Android
starting from scratch on Android
I had Diving Log installed and used on a Samsung. I now want to start from scratch, de-installed the app, deleted all known files etc, ran SD Maid for deletion and re-installed it. Unfortunately I cannot start from scratch because the app is already registered (no need to enter name and code) and somehow find any data etc and also the OneDrive link for synch cannot be newly chosen. What can I do? Every support is appreciated...
Re: starting from scratch on Android
Hello
If you've bought the app from Google Play, the registration is bound to your Google Account and automatically applied when you reinstall the app. If you bought the Windows version with a code, it should be gone after reinstallation and you have to enter it again.
I guess that Google is backing up some data on Google Drive automatically and restoring it. But this is normally no problem. You can easily delete all logbook files in the logbook management screen. You can also logout in the synchronization by clicking the 3 dot menu in the upper right corner of the OneDrive screen. When you logout, the connection is deleted and you can login again.
Kind regards,
Sven

Re: starting from scratch on Android
Hey Sven,
I don't get your point. The Android App is only available via Google Play, isn't it? Yes, I bought the Windows version with a code but Android version's not asking for it.
I can logout from OneDrive and log in again; but still I cannot choose another OneDrive folder. Google Drive is not in use at all.
Sorry to say, but your answer unfortunately does not help me
Kind regards,
Jan

Hello Jan
Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to do. You cannot choose another OneDrive folder. You can only choose another OneDrive account. The folder is always "Divelog" in the root of the OneDrive folder. If you want to use another folder, you have to switch to "Other Cloud" in the sync dialog and manually upload/download the file.
You can enter your desktop unlock code in the Android app to use it for free. In the in-app purchase dialog you tap on "Enter unlock code" and enter your Windows Desktop unlock code. But again: what are you trying to do? Why do you want to start from scratch at all?
Google Drive is used by Android automatically for backing up app data.

Hello Sven
"The folder is always "Divelog" in the root of the OneDrive folder" - thanks for this info, wasn't clear/known to me since te folder for the Windos version can be changed.
The unlock code is not needed, app's registered after installation. This was another topic I wonder about.
Thanks for your support,
Jan
