Fit file export to Garmin

Post by krwdzk »

Hi,
I was super thrilled to learn about the fit file export support - but it does not seem to work for me :( At least the way I try to use it. I can export just fine but when I try to import the fit file into Garmin Connect (via website interface) I get an error. Just a generic 'An error occurred with your upload. Please try again.' so I don't have any more details. This happens for all the files I tried: multiple dives, single dive, with and without profile. (Doing all of this on Windows, if that matters)
Is that a known issue?
Thanks,
K

Yes, this is unfortunately a known issue. I try to figure out what they don't like. The file is valid according to https://www.fitfileviewer.com

Hi,

I have the same problem, but for some dives I found a solution to import them successfully.

- Export a single dive from Diving Log to .fit
- Fail to upload
- Check with https://www.fitfileviewer.com/, which states an error and download the fixed version
- Succesfully upload the fixed fit

Due to the lack of precise error log, I think its hard to find the bug with the export.
So here is a fit file generated by dive log and the fixed version from https://www.fitfileviewer.com/which successfully uploads. Once processed by fitfileviewer, it uploads. But you can only process files with errors there.

Hope it helps, I would love to import all my dives to Garmin too ;)

Thank you for your feedback! That's interesting, because I've uploaded my fit export to fitfileviewer.com and ensured that there are no errors in my files. Still, Garmin did not accept them. I will have a look at your files.

I checked my exports. They open fine in fitfileviewer.com but not in Garmin Connect :/
