Hi all,
I'm only seeing information in the forum and user manual about how to export from pc to phone, but not the other way around. How can I do this? I have some dives in the log on the pc, but want to add my new dives from my latest dive holiday that are stored on my phone.
Background: I take my phone on my travels, import from the dive computer to the phone, add some details like name, weight/suit/etc., and save everything. I would like to export this information to my pc, because in the pc version I can easily add photo's and other information. In case I lose my phone, then this would be an excellent back-up. And I also like adding more detail on a big screen.
I've tried making a backup on the android phone and e-mailing it to myself, but this creates an SQL file, and the Windows pc version of dive log looks for an MDB file. My current log on the pc has 11 dives, and on the phone I now have 27. I'm afraid to overwrite the extra information I've added to the first 11 dives on the pc.

Sorry for the late resonse, I was on vacation! You can see how it works here:

It is the same dialog as syncing from PC to mobile, just use the other button. You can either use USB or Cloud for Android or also manually import the .sql file using the "Diving Log" import function with the "Merge" button activated. Any of these function will not overwrite newer data with older data and it will ask you if you want to delete any data from the desktop logbook that is not present in the mobile logbook.
But a backup of the .mdb desktop logbook is always a good idea.

I've tried and tried but it doesn't work when I use the Android sync. I've tried so many times, so finally I decided to see what this import function is that you mention. And that works! I did the merge and everything is good on both the phone and the pc.
So, next time someone asks about synchronizing from phone to pc, just recommend the import with merge function and that should do it. Maybe it's a good idea to put it in one of the explanation pages.

Strange that it does not work the normal way. When using the cloud sync functions, make sure the file is actually synced to the PC from the cloud app. Make also sure the cloud folder is correctly configured using the "gear" icon in the upper right corner of the desktop sync dialog.
It is using the same import function like the manual import, so the only way it does not work is, when the wrong file is imported.
