I've had a persistent problem sorting by date and time in the logbook window. I have a few dives that are in the correct date order, but are not in time order within the date. I've tried using the sort function, but it did not work. I ultimately saw an article that was years old where the user was able to get the dives back in the correct order by changing the dive number first. That seems to work. It's a little bit of a pain, but workable. I actually spent way more time investigating it than I did correcting the entries once I realized what seemed to be happening.
DL6 doesn't seem to actually be sorting on time. It assumes that you enter or import dives in the correct time order. It will sort them into the correct date, but seems to have no idea about the time.
Is my understanding correct? Is it a bug or just a consequence of the way Access works? If this is the way it works then I'd encourage you to change the dialog on the sort menu to remove the reference to "time".
Thanx
Roy
Sorting by date and TIME
Re: Sorting by date and TIME
Hi Roy
Diving Log sorts dives in the logbook window only by dive number. You can automatically renumber your dives by date and time using this function:
https://www.divinglog.com/blog/?page_id=2390
This will renumber the dives, so they are displayed in the correct order. This is useful if you do not import the dives in the correct order (e.g. from different sources). You can then sort and renumber the dives afterwards.
Kind regards,
Sven

Re: Sorting by date and TIME
Is there a functionality to adjust date/time for selected dives by an increment. Often I will go on a dive trip to another time zone and forget to adjust the date/time of dive computer. If it's just an hour I don't really care but when it's the other side of the world the dive times look really strange when every day it would appear I'm diving at 1am, 4am, etc. Or did a night dive at noon.
