There are several ways to do this:
1. You can email the logbook file to yourself or send/share it to another app:
Open the app main menu and select "Manage Logbooks"
You will see a list of your logbook files (you can have any number of logbook files).
Before doing critical operations, Diving Log will automatically create backups in the same folder, which have the name [Backup] at the end. These are on-device backups and only useful if the device is still functional and your main logbook file was damaged somehow.
Select your logbook file (not the [Backup]) and open the menu
You can use the "Email" option to send the file to yourself or the "Share & Export" option to send the file to another app which you can use for backup or transfer.
2. Use the build-in Dropbox synchronization:
Open the app main menu and select "Synchronization"
Log into your Dropbox account and tap on "Upload" to upload the logbook file to the "Divelog" folder in Dropbox. To restore it later, tap on "Download".
3. Copy your logbook file to a PC, Mac or USB Stick:
Open the app main menu and select "Close App"
Connect your Android device with USB to your PC or Mac, open the file manager and navigate to this folder:
Code: Select all
Phone/Android/data/com.divinglog.divelog/files/Logbook
Copy your logbook file(s) to your PC or Mac. You can use the same method to copy your logbook file with an Android file manager to a USB stick or SD Card which is connected via USB OTG.
4. Sync your logbook file to Diving Log 6.0 on your PC:

5. Configure local on-device backups:

No matter which method you use, you should regularly copy your logbook file from your device to other locations, otherwise your data will be gone if you lose your Android device, it get's damaged or you switch to another device!
