Diving Log Blog

At the moment, only Dropbox is build into the Diving Log Android app for synchronization and backup. But you can use any other cloud storage like OneDrive or Google Drive to synchronize and backup your logbook by copying the logbook file manually using a file manager or cloud app. In the screenshots below you can see how to copy the file using the Samsung My Files app to Google Drive, but you can use any other file manager or cloud app.

Method 1: Export/Import your logbook to/from another app

1. Open the app main menu and select “Manage Logbooks”

2. Select your logbook file and then “Export/Share” from the menu:

Export the file to the cloud app of your choice (e.g. Onedrive, Google Drive etc) into the folder “Divelog”. Use “Import” to select a file from another app and import the file (this will overwrite your existing logbook!)

Method 2: Use an Android file manager app (also necessary to import your logbook from the cloud)

1. Close the Diving Log app from the app menu (important!):

2. Launch a file manager or cloud app, which can access the internal and cloud storage:

3. Copy the logbook file (*.sql) from the “Diving Log” folder in the root of the internal storage of your Android device:

4. Paste it into the “Divelog” folder in the root of your cloud storage:

If you want to download the logbook from the cloud to your phone, do it the other way around. Just make sure to close the Diving Log app from the app menu before copying the logbook file with an external app.
